About My Inner Athlete.
I’m a high schooler and a competitive swimmer—and like a lot of student-athletes, I’ve felt the weight of trying to keep it all together. You wake up early for practice, sit through a full day of school, grind through homework, try to keep up with friends and family, and still feel like you’re falling behind. And on top of that, you’re expected to stay mentally strong, physically sharp, emotionally balanced, and totally fine.
But what if you’re not?
That’s why I started this podcast. Because no one really teaches you how to handle the mental side of it all. The pressure. The stress. The burnout. The self-doubt. We hear a lot about “mental toughness,” but not enough about mental health.
This podcast brings together athletes, psychologists, and coaches to talk about the stuff we usually keep to ourselves. We go into what it really feels like to chase goals while feeling anxious, how to bounce back from failure, how to deal with the expectations we put on ourselves (or others put on us), and how to find some kind of balance in the middle of it all.
We’re not here to sugarcoat things. We’re here to help. Through real conversations, personal stories, and expert advice, we try to give you tools you can actually use—whether that’s learning how to handle pressure, how to rest without guilt, or just how to breathe through a hard day.
You don’t have to figure it all out on your own. This space is for student-athletes like me—and maybe like you—who want to understand themselves better, find more balance, and stay mentally strong for the long haul.
